is my Catalina 270 designed by long time friend and neighbor Gerry Douglas
of Catalina Yachts. It won Cruising World Magazine's “Boat of the Year”
award when it was introduced. I visited the factory every week watching
Ferdinand being built. I could hardly wait to go sailing.
Ferdinand
is named after one of my all time favorite stories. Ferdinand knew how
to survive and to enjoy life to the fullest.
Munro
Leaf's famous story of Ferdinand goes back many years and is still
in print in more than 60 languages enjoyed by millions.

ordered Ferdinand after learning to sail my first boat,
